Check valves come in three types: separate, horizontal, and horizontal unloading. The pneumatic tube connections for check valves are either ferrule type or threaded type. Check valves, also known as lock valves or pressure-holding valves, function the same way to prevent reverse airflow. Opening the check valve allows airflow in both directions. The check valve uses fluororubber, silicone rubber, nitrile rubber, and flat sealing gaskets, providing good sealing performance. Another type, the unloading check valve, is tested similarly but has a slight difference in performance: if the unloading pressure range is not reached, the check valve will not open and airflow is allowed in both directions. After unloading is closed, the check valve operates normally.
